Program Description

Objective: Although both Chinese landscape painting and Western oil-painting are artistic forms of displaying beauty, there exist distinctive differences! There are diverse genres in traditional Chinese painting, one of which is “Jing-kou (ancient name of Zhenjiang) schooling”. Japanese painter Sesshū’s Prosperous Tang Dynasty—a Panorama of Zhenjiang now stored in Kyoto National Museum is top national treasure in Japan. Still remember the famous poet Li Bai in Tang dynasty ever saying “North to Dan-yang (part of Zhenjiang) is the strategic pass of the Wu Kingdom (Zhenjiang), outlining pavilions out of clouds and water”?
