This programme will provide you with comprehensive training in the theoretical and quantitative tools used in the study of economics, and an opportunity to specialize in one of three areas (finance, international business or marketing). All students receive a rigorous grounding in microeconomic, macroeconomic and econometric theories.
What knowledge and skills will I acquire? By the time you graduate, you should:
be able to apply economic theories to the workings of real world markets;
have the ability to analyse and identify creative solutions to problems relating to business and economic policy.

The analytical, empirical, and interpretative skills you will develop through the Economics programme are highly valuable in a wide variety of careers. Graduates will be well prepared for management and specialist roles in industry and business, the financial sector, local government, civil service. You will also have a good foundation for further postgraduate study.
What will I study?
At level 1, you will study the following core subjects, which will provide you with a broad foundation in economic theory:
Micro- and Macro-economics
You will also be able to follow specialist modules in either finance, international business or marketing.
At level 2, you will learn more about micro- and macro-economics and will be introduced to econometric theory. You will also continue to follow your chosen specialism in finance, international business or marketing.
In your final year, you will undertake a substantial research project, spanning both semesters. Alongside your project, you will be introduced to game theory. You will also complete your study of economic and econometric theories, and your specialist studies in finance, international business or marketing.
The University accepts a wide variety of school, college and foundation qualifications such as A-Level, AS-Level, IB and other equivalent overseas qualifications.
English Language Requirements:
All students must have acceptable English language qualifications to study at the University. Various English qualifications are acceptable including:
IELTS 5.5 for year 1 entry , or 6.5 for advanced standing; or
TOEFL 520 (paper-based), or 190 (computer-based) or 75 (iBT) for year 1 entry; or
TOEFL 570 (paper-based), or 230 (computer-based) or 88 (iBT) for advanced standing, or
XJTLU English test.

3. Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

6. Certificate of English proficiency test
IELTS or TOEFl will only be required if the applicant is not a native English speaker.
